Several improvements to Lien Filing:
  • Preview before you file. GET /lien_submissions/{filing_id}/preview_document returns a PDF of your draft on the official UCC-1 or UCC-3 form, watermarked “PREVIEW — NOT FILED”. The console shows it on the review step.
  • Download what was submitted. GET /lien_submissions/{filing_id}/submission_document returns the PDF that was submitted to the state, and a new has_submission_document field tells you whether one is available. This applies to filings submitted from September 18, 2026 onward.
  • Filter and sort your filing history. GET /lien_submissions now accepts filed_from / filed_to, lapse_from / lapse_to, state, standing (Active, Lapsed, Terminated or Unknown), filing_type, action and secured_party, plus sort_by (updated_at, filing_date or lapse_date) and sort_direction. The same filters are on the Lien Filings page in the console.
  • Filed amendments update the original lien. When a UCC-3 is filed, the UCC-1 it amends now updates to match: a termination sets it to Terminated, a continuation extends its lapse date, and an assignment makes the assignee its secured party of record. The original lien fires a LienFiling.updated webhook when it changes, so you may see additional webhook events.
  • More you can do with imported liens. Liens you imported from the public record can now be continued and assigned, not just terminated.
  • Filing date optional on lookup. POST /lien_submissions/initial_filing_lookup no longer requires a filing date. It is still required when allow_unverified is true.
No integration changes required.
