# Standalone Lien Filing

You can now create a UCC-1 lien filing without first running a KYB search. A new endpoint, `POST /lien_submissions`, opens a draft filing where the debtor is entered manually rather than pre-filled from an existing business or person record. 

The existing anchored routes - `POST /businesses/{business_id}/lien_submissions` and `POST /people/{person_id}/lien_submissions` - continue to work unchanged for filings tied to a profile.

Standalone filings manage every party through the `debtors` list on the filing body. The `assigned_debtor` field is valid only on anchored filings; sending it on a standalone filing returns error `479` (HTTP 422). Everything downstream - amendments, attachments, and `POST /lien_submissions/{filing_id}/submit` - behaves the same for standalone and anchored filings. In the Console, "File a Lien" on the lien filings list creates a standalone draft directly. 

No integration changes required, the new endpoint is additive.
