# Docket Match Confidence

> Aug 20, 2026

Docket search results now carry a `match_confidence` object that tells you how likely a returned docket actually involves the entity you searched for. \
Each docket returned by `GET /docket_searches/{search_request_id}` (and the ad-hoc equivalent) includes a `confidence` level - `high`, `medium`, or `low` - alongside the three signals it is built from: `name_match`, `address_match`, and `date_match`.

Instead of a single opaque flag, you can triage dockets by confidence and see the reasoning behind it: whether the party name lines up, whether the court's venue is consistent with the subject's known state, and whether the filing date is consistent with when the entity could have been a party (for example, its incorporation date).

The older `match_level` field is now **deprecated** in favor of `match_confidence`; it remains present for backward compatibility. No integration changes required.
